How to Get a Custom Email Domain (you@yourbrand.com)
An email like you@yourbrand.com looks instantly more professional than a generic Gmail address — and it builds trust with customers. A custom email domain is simple to set up once you own a domain name. Here is how it works.
What you need first
A custom email address needs a domain name. If you do not have one yet, run a quick domain search and register your brand (e.g. yourbrand.com or yourbrand.in). That domain becomes the part after the @ in your email.
Step 1 — Register your domain
Search and buy the domain you want. You only need one domain to create many email addresses on it (sales@, support@, you@, etc.).
Step 2 — Choose an email solution
- Professional email hosting — a dedicated mailbox service on your domain.
- Google Workspace / Microsoft 365 — use Gmail or Outlook with your own domain.
- Email forwarding — the simplest free option: forward you@yourbrand.com to an inbox you already use.
Step 3 — Point your domain's records
Add the MX records (and any verification records) from your email provider into your domain's DNS. From your dashboard this is a couple of copy-paste entries; once they propagate, mail starts flowing to your custom address.
Step 4 — Create your addresses
Set up the inboxes you need — your name, plus role addresses like info@, sales@, and support@. Use a consistent format so your team looks unified.
Why it is worth it
A branded email improves credibility, lands in inboxes more reliably than free addresses, and keeps your identity tied to a domain you own — not a platform that could change the rules.
