A ready virtualenv at /opt/algo/venv with kiteconnect, dhanhq, fyers-apiv3, upstox-python-sdk, smartapi-python, pyotp and pandas.
Requests leave over the IPv4 address you registered, not IPv6, which is a common cause of "invalid IP" order rejections.
Drop your script in /opt/algo and start it with one command. It restarts on failure and after reboots, with logs in journalctl.
The server runs on Indian time and keeps its clock synced, so market-hours schedules fire on time.

Your broker
Log in to your server and run algo-ip. Add the IPv4 address it shows as the static IP in your broker's API settings. You can register a primary and an optional secondary IP, and change them at most once per calendar week.

Add it under your DhanHQ API settings. Orders from other IPs are rejected with DH-905.

Set it on your app in the developer console. One IP per customer, and a change logs out your existing access tokens.

Questions
Yes, if your own code places orders through a broker API. Since 1 April 2026, brokers reject API orders from IP addresses you have not registered. If you trade through a platform such as Tradetron or AlgoTest, or your broker's own hosted algo product, the platform's IP is used and you do not need your own server.
Only family as SEBI defines it (spouse, dependent children and dependent parents), and only where your broker supports family mapping. Exchange rules say a static IP can be mapped to one client at a time, so never share it with friends or clients.
Exchange rules allow one change per calendar week. You can register a primary and an optional secondary IP. Your Algo VPS keeps the same IP for as long as you keep the server, including after a reinstall.
The server also has an IPv6 address, but it is set to prefer IPv4, so your orders leave from the IPv4 address you register. Angel One and Kotak Neo currently accept IPv4 only.
The server is usually built 5 to 15 minutes after payment is confirmed, and the setup finishes a few minutes after it first boots. Log in, run algo-ip, and register the IPv4 address it shows with your broker.
It is unmanaged. We set up the base system and keep the hardware and network running; you run your own bots. Security updates install automatically.
Not on this plan. Algo VPS is Linux only, so it suits Python, Node.js and other Linux tools. Windows is not available yet.
