RDP stands for Remote Desktop Protocol, Microsoft's way of showing a Windows computer's screen on another device over the internet. An RDP server is a Windows machine you connect to that way. Here it is your own Windows VPS in a data centre: you see its desktop, use its keyboard and mouse from your device, and it keeps running when you disconnect.

For most buyers they are the same product. The Windows VPS is the server; RDP is how you connect to it. Sellers usually mean "admin RDP" (your own Windows VPS with the Administrator account, like this plan) or "shared RDP" (one user account on a server shared with others). Shared RDP is cheaper but slower, and you can't install system-wide software.

On a Windows PC, press Win + R, type mstsc and enter your server's IP address. On a Mac, iPhone or Android, install Microsoft's free Windows App and add the IP address. Sign in as Administrator with the password shown in your dashboard.

Yes. Every server runs Windows Server 2025 with a licence provided through the data centre and included in your monthly price. Very cheap RDP is sometimes a 180-day evaluation copy of Windows Server, which stops working when the trial ends.

Yes. You sign in as Administrator, so you can install any software, change settings and add users for yourself.

It is for one customer. The licence allows two Remote Desktop sessions at the same time for administration, so you can be signed in from two devices. Sharing one server among many separate users needs extra Microsoft licences and isn't allowed on this plan.

You buy and pay in India, in rupees, but the server is in a data centre in Germany. It is a little slower to reach from India than a server in India, which is fine for working on the desktop and running software all day. If your code needs a static IP in Mumbai for an Indian broker API, choose Algo VPS Mumbai instead.

Port 3389. It is open on a new server so you can connect, and you can use the firewall in your dashboard to allow it only from your own IP address.
